This nature theme is complemented by the Oasi di Canneviè in the municipality of Codigoro. It is a remnant of a larger complex of coastal lagoons that surrounded the Abbazia di Pomposa.

The Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta in Pomposa has a Romanesque floor plan with three aisles, separated from one another by Roman and Byzantine columns.
Traces of trade, the port and Venetian influence
The Torre della Finanza in Codigoro was built at the beginning of the 18th century for the armed defence of the port and to control trade traffic at the mouth of the Po di Volano. The tower thus points to a period when access to the river was also important for protection and the movement of goods. The Palazzo del Vescovo on the Po di Volano in Codigoro presents a different image. The building is elegantly and finely designed and displays a strong Venetian influence. From 1978 onwards, it was used as a cultural centre and as the headquarters of the Codigoro municipal library.

The Monumento allo Scariolante in Codigoro commemorates workers from the Po Delta region. They transported large quantities of earth by hand to reclaim land and build embankments along canals and rivers.
