Pescate looks out over two defining landscapes: Monte Barro is designated as a regional nature park and is an integral part of Pescate's landscape. The lake along Pescate's shores is also part of the Adda Nord Regional Park. The lake landscape includes equipped parks.

Hiking trail 312 forms a nature trail loop from Pescaline in Pescate via Bellavista, Baita Pescate, San Michele and Prato degli Avari, returning to the area around Pescate's cemetery. Along the nature trail, information stations explain the local flora, forests, animals and fungi, as well as the spring that feeds the Rio San Michele.

Easy trails and nature experiences

On the Monte Barro side facing Pescate, an easy trail suitable for all ages leads along the Via Crucis degli Alpini di Pescate to the village of San Michele. Baita Pescate is easily accessible via the numerous trails on Monte Barro. Its surroundings offer opportunities for educational activities and nature exploration, making it suitable for visitors who want to take a closer look at the local nature while enjoying some exercise.

A well-signposted trail leads through a short walk in the forest to the Monte Castelletto archaeological site. There, an information board explains the finds and the history of the structures discovered. The clear route and the short section through the forest make this place a destination in its own right within Pescate's landscape.

Cultural history at Monte Barro and in the village

At Monte Barro, visitors can see archaeological buildings and finds from the Gothic period. They date from the end of the 5th century to the first half of the 6th century. Roman graves with ash urns as well as bronze pans and ladles from the 1st century BC were also found in Pescate.

The restored Church of San Michele on Monte Barro is used as a venue for cultural events. In the village of Pescaline, the Church of Sant'Agata in the Pescate area is documented as early as the 13th century. Over time, the Festa di Sant'Agata in Pescate was held on 5 February, the feast day of the patron saint of Catania.

Lakeside paths and practical orientation

From Parco Le Torrette, you can walk along the lakeside promenade. For cyclists and pedestrians, the Ciclopedonale del lago di Garlate leads to Parco Addio Monti in Pescate after crossing the Ponte Azzone Visconti. Access to Parco Addio Monti and to the cycle and pedestrian path from Via Alzaia is prohibited because of the ANAS construction site for the Quarto-Ponte works until construction is completed.
