Arena Po between the Po Riverbank, Art and History

Vineyards and Trails in Zenevredo

Zenevredo is situated in a scenic position on hills overlooking the Po Plain, to the right of the Torrente Versa. Exploring the Po

The 22-kilometer-long Ciclovia del Po runs in the vicinity of Casa Gramegna to the Parpanese landing stage in the municipality of Arena Po and can be used by bicycle or on foot. It passes former river channels, sandbanks, willow groves and backwaters, offering opportunities to observe river birds. In the vicinity of Casa Gramegna, a section of a Po riverbank route can alternatively begin in Arena Po, which is accessible by train; the route connects with the Ciclovia del Po. The Case Vecchie–Fontanelle–Casa Gramegna connection is designated as a Type C road.

Romanesque Traces and Fortified Buildings

In the municipality of Zenevredo, the Chiesa di San Vincenzo dates from the mid-18th century. In the rear area of the presbytery and sacristy, it preserves traces of Romanesque masonry made from local natural stone and bricks. The Castello di Arena Po, a fortified ruin from the 14th century consisting mainly of bricks, is located in the vicinity of Casa Gramegna. Also there, the Chiesa di S. Giorgio in Arena Po was built in the 13th century in the Romanesque style, using the remains of a temple dating from 1021. The Chiesa di S. Giorgio preserves a bell tower regarded as the oldest Romanesque bell tower in the province. The Torre Belvedere in Arena Po is a privately owned fortified building from the 15th century. Casa Gramegna is associated with the mill site known as “Molino Casa Gramegna”.

Art in the Historic Center

The MAAAPO – Museo Arte Ambiente Arena Po is a municipal open-air museum in the vicinity of Casa Gramegna; its artworks are freely accessible around the clock. The tour mainly leads through the streets of the historic center and along the former Ripa, now a promenade beside a loop of an artificial former Po channel. It runs between the Pieve del mille e ventidue and the medieval Torre dè Beccaria castle. The tour brings together artworks, the historic town center and the Po landscape.

Wine and Lombard Cuisine

Brindisi d'Autunno in Zenevredo was scheduled to take place for its fourth edition on October 11, 2026, with a tasting of local wines. The historic Polentata di Zenevredo reached its fifth edition in 2026. At the Polentata, traditionally prepared polenta is served as a specialty of Lombard peasant cuisine.
