Lesegno combines paths through wooded landscapes with several churches, chapels and historic traces. In the Valli Mongia e Cevetta e Langa Cebana area, the Castello di Lesegno illustrates the region’s deeply rooted history.

Chapels, Churches and Ruins

Among the older traces is the Castellazzo in Località San Gervasio. Only a few ruins remain, including a tower and parts of the surrounding wall. The Parrocchiale di San Antonio was built in Borgata Villa and dates from the 15th century.

The Madonna del Lucchinetto is a Romanesque church whose origins probably date back to the 10th century. Today, it stands at the center of the cemetery built in 1822 in Località Prata. Another landmark in the town’s history is the very old Cappella di San Bernardo da Mentone in Località Castelletto.

Smaller religious buildings also shape the area’s historical heritage: the Cappella di Santo Stefano in Località Mongrosso dates from the 17th century, while the Madonna delle Casette is a small church built in 1650. In Prata, the Cappella di San Sebastiano is the parish church of the hamlet; its patronal festival is celebrated there in September.

The Cappella di San Nazario is considered the oldest chapel in the area. It was built in 1207 and preserves valuable frescoes. The Percorso Murales comprises 13 murals on house façades and walls in Lesegno.

Trails Through the Forests

The landscape can also be explored actively. In Lesegno, particularly interesting routes follow unpaved roads through dense oak, chestnut, beech and pine forests. Mushrooms and chestnuts are gathered there in autumn. There are also opportunities for mountain biking and horse-riding excursions, as well as walks in the countryside.

The Petalo Verde hiking trail begins in Lesegno and connects the Valle Mongia with the Valle Casotto.
