Beaulard lies on the valley floor along the Dora di Bardonecchia at 1,175 metres above sea level. For travellers who want to combine hiking with landscapes and local history, the village offers several different ways to explore it: the Anello Beaulard–Puy Beaulard–Beaulard circular hike, the Sentiero del Balcone, the railway station and the hamlet of Puy Beaulard. Landscape between the Dora and the Forest

The Oasi Xerotermica di Puys (Beaulard) is connected with the special protected area bearing the site code IT1110052 and is managed by the Metropolitan City of Turin. The Anello Beaulard–Puy Beaulard–Beaulard circular hike provides a specific insight into the landscape: it passes through forests of Scots pine and spruce. The region's trail history also includes the former Beaulard–Oulx cross-country ski trail, which follows the course of the Dora from Bardonecchia to Oulx. The Dora di Bardonecchia is a reference point for Beaulard's location, car park and former ski trail.

Circular Hike and Rifugio Guido Rey

The Anello Beaulard–Puy Beaulard–Beaulard circular hike starts and ends in Beaulard and takes about two hours. At Puy Beaulard, it reaches a maximum elevation of 1,450 metres. Another option is the signposted hiking route from Beaulard railway station to the Rifugio Guido Rey mountain hut, which follows trails 702/703. The Rifugio Guido Rey can be reached on foot from Beaulard in approximately one and a half hours.

Sentiero del Balcone and Rail Connection

On the Sentiero del Balcone, Beaulard can be reached on foot in less than one and a half hours. The Oulx–Beaulard hiking route of the Sentiero del Balcone descends to Beaulard via trail number 701. On this hike, it is possible to return to Oulx by train from Beaulard railway station. Beaulard has a railway station on the Turin–Bardonecchia railway line.

Architecture and Cultural Traces

Traditional architecture is considered to remain intact in the hamlet of Puy Beaulard. During the Christmas holidays, a typical handmade Occitan nativity scene was set up in Beaulard's restored old bakery oven. These three local references lead from preserved architectural forms through the history of a person to a regionally rooted Christmas tradition.
