Triscina: Coast, Dunes and Ancient Selinunte

Triscina is a tourist coastal resort and seaside destination whose character is shaped by the sea, dunes and the ancient heritage in the surrounding area. This makes it a destination where stays by the water can be combined with cultural discoveries and a variety of activities. Here, the coast presents itself as a landscape, an underwater habitat and a starting point for exploring Selinunte.

Coast between dunes and beaches

Wind-shaped dunes, often covered by dense vegetation, frame Triscina’s coastal panorama. This landscape gives the town a clearly recognisable coastal character. The beaches of Spiaggia di Triscina and Playa Lido Zabbara are located near Triscina. The beaches of Spiaggia Tre Fontane and Puzziteddu are also in the surrounding area.

Sea and diving

The marine world of Triscina attracts many divers who explore its rich and varied seabed. For visitors who want to experience the coast from more than just the shore, this maritime aspect is part of the destination’s distinctive character. Diving adds another activity to the seaside appeal and also makes Triscina interesting for travellers who want to enjoy a more varied experience by the water.

Selinunte and the ancient sanctuaries

From Triscina, it is possible to access the sanctuaries of Gaggera in ancient Selinunte. The ancient site of Parco Archeologico di Selinunte is located near Triscina. The ancient site of Tempio E is also nearby. The Sanctuary of Demeter Malophoros is considered one of the most important cult complexes in Greek Sicily. The entrance to the Parco Archeologico di Selinunte on the Triscina side was reopened on 21 June 2026 with an opening walk.

Museums and a special leisure activity

The Museo del Lavoro Contadino and the Enoagrimuseum also contribute to the cultural orientation of the surrounding area. Both are located near Triscina and complement the ancient sites with additional points of interest. The Circuito Internazionale Triscina offers a completely different experience: it organises corporate and amateur kart races for various groups and occasions. The destination’s range of experiences therefore extends from coastal landscapes and the underwater world to archaeology and organised motorsport activities.

Choosing Triscina as a travel destination

The focus of a stay in Triscina can be on the coast or on the ancient surroundings of Selinunte. The beaches, wind-shaped dunes and seabed all favour a stay with a strong coastal focus. At the same time, the sanctuaries of Gaggera, Selinunte, Tempio E and the Sanctuary of Demeter Malophoros provide a cultural gateway to ancient Sicily. Museums and kart races add further highlights, so Triscina does not have to be reduced to a seaside resort alone.
