Gambassi Terme can be explored through marked trails, medieval architecture, museums, a park and destinations in the wider surrounding region. This opens up perspectives for your travel planning on exercise, culture, archaeology, relaxation and time outdoors.

For hiking, the five Sentieri dei Casciani trails are the main focus. They are marked in different colors, classified as EE and recommended for experienced hikers with suitable equipment. Experience and equipment should therefore be part of the planning for this selection of trails.

Another route is stage 31 of the Via Francigena. It connects Gambassi Terme with San Gimignano, is just over 13 kilometers long and is considered accessible. The route passes through rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards and rows of cypress trees. Park and Historic Center

At the heart of Gambassi Terme’s medieval historic center lies the Parco Comunale di Gambassi Terme, a visitor attraction. The park preserves the layout of an Italian garden with regular paths, well-kept hedges and impressive avenues of holm oaks.

Its shaded areas offer opportunities for walks, relaxation and outdoor activities. A dedicated children’s play area complements the park and provides a specific place to spend time, including when traveling with children.

Architecture, Museums and History

The Pieve di Santa Maria a Chianni is one of the best-preserved examples of late Romanesque architecture in Tuscany. Inside, it has three naves separated by columns and rounded arches, in the style of Pisan Romanesque rural churches. For those interested in culture, the Pieve di Santa Maria a Chianni therefore provides a particular focus for exploring late Romanesque architecture.

Significant archaeological remains were found at the Area Archeologica di Poggio all'Aglione in Gambassi Terme. Museums in the vicinity of Gambassi Terme include the Museo Archeologico/Spezieria di Santa Fina, the Museo D'Arte Sacra and Torre Grossa.

The Terme di Gambassi are located in Parco Benestare, a green natural area between the municipalities of Gambassi and Montaione. The area has springs and water outflows. The Terme di Gambassi were built between 1978 and 1980.

Monte Vasone, Monte Maggio and Monte Calvarino are mountains in the wider regional surroundings of Gambassi Terme. The Parco Fluviale is a park in the wider regional area and thus broadens the view of the landscape beyond the immediate town area.
