Lamole among vineyards and panoramic views

Lamole is a small village surrounded by vineyards and known for its impressive views of the Chianti area. Chestnut and oak forests surround the village; at the same time, Lamole overlooks the vineyards in the valley and offers views westward over expansive hill ranges. Wine, cellars and local cuisine

A particular focus is on the wine experiences offered by Lamole di Lamole. Tours of vineyards and cellars are offered there, followed by a wine tasting. The “Wines & Flavours” experience combines a cellar visit and wine tasting with local gastronomic specialities. The programme also includes a private visit to the village and church, a walk through the vineyards, a cellar tour, a welcome drink and a wine tasting. The wines of Fattoria di Lamole are rooted in a family tradition that has existed for centuries.

Circular route and a special approach

The Anello di Lamole circular route begins in Lamole’s square, the centre of the medieval settlement. The settlement is characterised by Alberello vines and typical dry-stone walls; at the same time, Lamole’s landscape is recognised as a historic rural cultural landscape of international importance. The road leading uphill to Lamole from the junction on the road between Greve and Panzano is itself also considered an attraction. When choosing a hotel or other accommodation, you can therefore weigh up whether the focus of your stay should be on wine landscapes, the village or cultural impressions.

Churches and historical connections

The small Romanesque church of San Donato dates from the 13th century and was rebuilt in the 19th century. In the vicinity of Lamole, the church of San Michele contains an altarpiece fresco attributed to the painter Paolo Schiavo, depicting the Madonna and Child together with several saints. The church of San Michele is also located near Lamole, in Parco San Michele, close to the summit of the mountain of the same name at an altitude of approximately 900 metres. Near Lamole, the former monastery complex of San Michele was affiliated with the Camaldolese Congregation in the 12th century. Near Lamole, the church of San Michele Arcangelo was reopened to the public following architectural and artistic restoration.

Historic wine landscape and events

Fattoria di Lamole initiated the restoration of its historic vineyards and old farm buildings. “I profumi di Lamole” offered a clearly defined, time-limited insight into the region’s wine culture: the programme from 31 May to 2 June 2025 included wine tastings and meetings with producers. The event took place in Greve in Chianti and was its 22nd edition.
