Churches, Castles and a Dynamic Art History

The Church of San Lorenzo a Montegufoni dates from the 13th century and acquired its present form through an expansion in the 17th century. A significantly older turning point is marked by Castello di Montegufoni: in 1135, following a dispute with the Florentine government, it was razed to the ground.
