The Villa Museo Giacomo Puccini was Puccini’s home for more than thirty years. Giacomo Puccini is buried in a chapel that was created from a former salon of the Villa Museo Giacomo Puccini. The historic character of this place adds another aspect directly connected with the composer to a visit to the villa.

Lago di Massaciuccoli is part of the Migliarino–San Rossore–Massaciuccoli Regional Park. The park covers 24,000 hectares with beaches, pine forests and wetlands, as well as a rich variety of birdlife. This means that the surrounding landscape extends from open coastal areas to protected habitats.

On the Viareggio–Torre del Lago Puccini route, there is an optional 3 km detour along unpaved paths. It leads through the Parco Naturale della Lecciona and then reaches Torre del Lago.
