Montecastelli Pisano: Landscape, History and Trails

Parts of the walls that once surrounded the entire castle have been incorporated into later buildings and are still visible. The Torre dei Pannocchieschi, on the other hand, is privately owned and closed to the public. When visiting the village, you should therefore clearly distinguish these visible wall remains from the inaccessible tower.

The Museo della Civiltà Contadina in Montecastelli Pisano was founded in 1985. Using objects owned by local residents, it documents the agricultural and craft activities of the Val di Cecina. The museum complements the architectural and castle history with the region's working life, leading from the medieval complex to the agricultural and craft traditions of the valley.
