Lago di Bomba is an artificial lake on the Sangro River. It was created by an earth-fill dam located within the municipality of Bomba. The lake is approximately 7 kilometers long, an average of 1.5 kilometers wide and up to 57.50 meters deep. At the same time, Lago di Bomba is an official venue for rowing competitions. It is therefore one of the clearly identifiable natural and activity-related features of the area, without its role having to be limited to a single type of trip. In the wider surroundings of Bomba, the archaeological site of Monte Pallano is divided approximately equally between the municipalities of Bomba and Tornareccio. The larger monumental section is located in Tornareccio. From Monte Pallano, views extend across the Sangro Valley to the Adriatic Sea and the peaks of the Majella. An approximately one-hour walk leads from Bomba's southern slope over a mule track and a hiking trail to the summit at an elevation of about 1,000 meters.

Historic Center and Local History

The Supportico is the main entrance to Bomba's historic center. It consists of a covered passage with a portal featuring a round arch at the front. Palazzo dei Feudatari is located at the highest point of the historic center. Palazzo Spaventa is a historic building in Bomba where the brothers Bertrando and Silvio Spaventa were born. In the heart of the historic center, the Cantine–Museo offer a visitor route through private spaces made available to the community.

Museums and Cultural Experiences

The Museo Etnografico di Bomba was founded in 1990. In six rooms, it displays everyday and work-related objects; the rooms faithfully recreate a rural house from Abruzzo. Visits are often led by older residents of the town, who explain the tools on display and share memories and traditional customs passed down through generations. The Church of Santa Maria del Popolo has a Baroque interior with stucco, low reliefs, frescoes and medallions.
