In 2025, the Grande Traversata dei Monti Gemelli started in Villa Lempa (Civitella del Tronto); Campli was the destination of the routes. The Grande Traversata dei Monti Gemelli – I balconi dell’Appennino Centrale – is considered a long trekking route for experienced hikers, starting in Villa Lempa and ending in Campli. For hike planning, the key factors here are the long route, the starting point in Villa Lempa and the fixed destination in Campli.

Another route connects the two peaks of the Monti Gemelli, Monte Girella and Monte Foltrone, in a single day. It passes through Macchia da Sole in the Valle Castellana area. Planning therefore focuses either on the Villa Lempa–Campli connection or on the day route via Monte Girella and Monte Foltrone.

The Sentiero della Legalità

The Sentiero della Legalità is an educational space outdoors. It appeals to remembrance, respect for rules, the care of public places and shared responsibility. The trail runs through the area between Cerqueto and Contrada Idra in the municipality of Civitella del Tronto. The Sentiero includes information boards along the trail that directly support its thematic focus. In addition to the mountain routes, the trail has its own focus on remembrance, rules and shared responsibility.

Cultural attractions in the surrounding area

The Museo delle Armi is located in the immediate vicinity of Villa Lempa. Another destination is the Abbey of Santa Maria in Montesanto. It is located on State Road 81, the Piceno-Aprutina, in the direction of Teramo, after passing Villa Lempa and shortly before Villa Passo. The abbey also adds the road axis towards Teramo and the section before Villa Passo to the cultural itinerary.

Festivals and historic vehicles

The 14th Festa Gastronomica in Villa Lempa and the Sagra di Villa Lempa were scheduled for the same period, between July 6 and 12, 2026. The 13th Festa Gastronomica in Villa Lempa was scheduled for the period between July 7 and 13, 2025. The events mentioned for 2026 therefore share the same scheduled period. The 2025 edition began one day later and also ended one day later. The dates fall entirely in July; July thus remains the common time reference for both types of event.

The fourth Raduno di Fiat 500 e Auto d’Epoca took place in Villa Lempa di Civitella del Tronto and attracted more than 150 vehicles. In addition to Fiat 500s, other historic vehicles were therefore part of the gathering.
