The route Itinerario W – Gressan Museo a cielo aperto (itinerario lungo) is 12.7 kilometres long and takes 3 hours and 30 minutes. The Sarre–Pontey cycling and walking route offers a different experience: it follows the river and is suitable for walking, running and cycling. The Les Iles di Gressan sports and leisure area is connected to this route. Maison Gargantua is the starting point for several routes exploring the surrounding area. A Landscape with Its Own Character

The Côte de Gargantua nature reserve in Gressan encompasses an elongated spur formed from glacial deposits. This distinctive landscape complements the sporting opportunities with a natural dimension and gives the area a clear character of its own.

History, Frescoes and an Autumn Festival

The Tour de Villa contains a hall with a cycle of heraldic frescoes. They depict the coats of arms of various noble families from the Aosta Valley and allied countries; the frescoes are believed to date from the second half of the 15th century. The Church of Sainte-Marie-Magdeleine, also known as the “La Madeleine Chapel”, was built in the 12th century. Gressan also hosts Fita di pomme, an apple festival held on the first Sunday in October. It includes a market featuring autumn fruits, typical local products and crafts, as well as various entertainment options.

Getting Around Aosta, Gressan and Pila

The cable car takes you from the centre of Aosta to Pila in 18 minutes, directly to the pistes. Bus route 5, “Aosta-Aymavilles”, connects Aosta with Gressan.
