Monteiasi’s historical and architectural heritage includes the 16th-century parish church of San Giovanni Battista, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. The parish church of San Giovanni Battista preserves wooden crucifixes dating from the 16th century.

The Santuario del Santissimo Crocifisso houses a wooden crucifix dating from 1616. The religious tradition also includes the Festa dell’Invenzione della Santa Croce, known as “lu Crucifissu piccinno”, which takes place on 3 May. Historical and Archaeological Traces

In 1891, the remains of a necropolis with around 80 graves were discovered at Tenuta San Nicola near the railway station; the finds included objects of Greek origin. Monteiasi’s historical connection to an Albanian colony from Salento can be traced back to the colony’s settlement there in the 15th century.
