A walk to the crypt

The Cripta della Santissima Trinità dates back to the 12th century. You can reach it via an approximately three-kilometre walk through the countryside, with masserie and olive groves along the way. Manor house and chapel in Monacizzo

The Torricella manor house dates back to the 16th century, is known for its five towers and now houses the municipal library. Its historical date and present-day use thus stand side by side: a building distinguished by its number of towers also houses a public library.

The Cappella della Madonna di Loreto is located in Monacizzo, a district of Torricella. A pastoral visit dated 24 May 1577 already documented its existence at that time. The single-nave chapel is built of tuff, has a rectangular floor plan and a barrel vault. Its precise dating and distinctive architectural form make it interesting if you would like to explore Italian architecture through individual religious buildings as well.

Torre Ovo between nature and coastal history

Torre Ovo beach adds a coastal setting to the picture. Torre Ovo is addressed as 74020 Torricella (TA), while the beach is located in the territory of Maruggio. Archaeological remains and a coastal watchtower overlooking the beach give the coast a historical dimension. Torre Ovo also offers an almost untouched coastal landscape and is suitable for relaxation in a natural setting. If you would like to combine nature with visible traces of the past, several interests come together here on a single beach.

Le Notti del Vino focuses on local produce and the region's wine. The event includes tastings accompanied by live music. Le Notti del Vino was announced in 2026 as its fifth edition. It is scheduled for 2 August 2026 at the Marina di Torricella, in Torre Ovo, at the Terrazza a Mare.
