The wide, rock-free beach and constant wind make Punta Pellaro suitable for kitesurfers of all experience levels – from professionals to beginners and intermediates. At the same time, Punta Pellaro is considered an area of exceptional value because particularly valuable natural and landscape features occur there together. The Kentish plover (Charadrius Alexandrinus) and the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) breed at Punta Pellaro. Archaeological traces at the Parco Archeologico di Pellaro

The Parco Archeologico di Pellaro preserves evidence of continuous settlement from the 6th century BC to the late Imperial period. Excavations that began in 1975 uncovered two chamber tombs dating from the 2nd to the 1st century BC. Later excavations revealed archaic burials, including two ash urns. The Parco Archeologico di Pellaro also includes a large paved basin associated with brick production. Museum and local everyday culture

The Museo Etnografico “I Nuovi Vignaioli” is located at Via Quattronari 36 in Pellaro. It comprises eight sections and more than 1,000 exhibits. The areas covered include human activities, machinery and the “catoju”. Alongside the archaeological evidence, the museum thus draws attention to the culture of work and material objects, making Pellaro accessible from a different historical perspective.

Water sports with different focuses

FSkite offers instruction in SUP, wing foiling and windsurfing; lessons are provided with IKO and FIV instructors. Il Pellaro and the Calabrian wine tradition

The red IGT wine Il Pellaro is considered to be relatively sought-after. It bears the name of the Pellaro district south of Reggio Calabria, where sunny vineyards stretch across the landscape. Pellaro is one of the Calabrian areas where the wine is permitted to retain the IGT designation. The place name therefore appears not only in archaeology and water sports, but also in the region's wine.
