It depicts the Madonna’s visit to Elisabetta and makes a specific religious subject visible within the church. Fiagnano and a historic bell tower
Fiagnano also broadens the cultural perspective on the area. Today, only the 13-metre-high bell tower of Fiagnano’s former parish church remains. The historic status of this structure remains essential: it is not the complete church, but solely the surviving tower that defines what remains today. The fortified village of Fiagnano is also considered the birthplace of Lamberto Scannabecchi, who was pope from 1124 to 1130 under the name Honorius II. Together with the Chiesa della Visitazione della Beata Vergine di Riviera, this creates a historical focus that connects different periods and forms of cultural heritage.
