Events and History on Site
Numerous events take place at Castello di Formigine every year. Settembre Formiginese is a recurring town festival with a history spanning more than half a century.
Concrete traces of the past can also be found outside the castle. Madonna del Ponte was built in 1510 as a simple votive chapel and contains an ancient wall fresco from the 14th century. Archaeological investigations at Castello di Formigine uncovered the ancient church of San Bartolomeo. The Museo del castello di Formigine is structured around the narrative coordinates of “time” and “space”, giving the historical tour a clearly organized perspective.
Architecture and Parkland
Villa Gandini is an exceptional example of Modenese Neoclassicism. The villa continues to house paintings, bas-reliefs and decorations created by important representatives of the architectural and artistic movements of the time.
The Parco della Resistenza is home to monumental trees, including two Ginkgo biloba trees. The Parco Archeologico del Castello offers a different green setting: it is a green area within the walls of Castello di Formigine. This creates different impressions for walks and visits – from the established park with its distinctive trees to the green space in the immediate surroundings of the castle.
Cycling Route between Modena and Maranello
The Ciclovia del Mito crosses Formigine as an approximately 21 km cycling route between the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena and the Museo Ferrari in Maranello. The Formigine section of the Ciclovia del Mito is approximately seven kilometres long. The two different figures help you realistically assess the scope of a possible bike tour and distinguish the section running through Formigine from the route as a whole.
For another scenic perspective, follow the nature trail along the Torrente Tiepido. It is an ecological corridor extending for 1.5 km through the Formigine area.

Formigine’s culinary side includes the Acetaia Comunale Francesco Aggazzotti. It is located in the attic of Villa Benvenuti.
