Fognano between the valley, gorge and landscape
Fognano is a village with a distinctive landscape: it rises above a deep gorge at the foot of which the Lamone River flows. Near Fognano, the Lamone Valley widens further. The Quartolo–Fognano stage passes through a landscape of calanchi and the Parco della Vena del Gesso. It follows CAI Trail 505 along the ridges to the vicinity of the Grotta Tanaccia and ends in Fognano at the Dominican nuns’ convent.
