The trails around Anduins represent distinctly different hiking profiles. The circular route “Anello della Mont di Anduins” is classified as a moderately difficult E hiking route with 530 metres of elevation gain and a length of 8.6 kilometres. By contrast, the route from Anduins to Fruinz via the Sentiero del Clapeit is classified as an EE hiking route for experienced hikers, with 780 metres of elevation gain and a length of 10.5 kilometres. This allows you to clearly weigh up the length, elevation gain and level of difficulty before planning your day.

Hiking between Gorge and Panoramic Views
The extended route to Mont di Anduins passes through the narrow Clapeit Gorge and then descends to the forecourt of the church in Anduins. The high-altitude trail “Troi dai Asìns” connects the Madonna della Neve Chapel with the “Somp Čuc” viewpoint. From there, the view stretches across Anduins and the Friulian plain as far as the sea. The two trails therefore combine contrasting landscapes: a narrow gorge on the one hand and a wide distant view on the other.
Falesia di Anduins and Climbing Planning
Falesia di Anduins is located on the road from Anduins towards Pielungo and has a large car park. Its south-facing orientation also determines the best climbing times: the crag is suitable for climbing in winter, while in summer, climbing in the afternoon is recommended in the sectors shaded by trees. For your planning, the combination of season, orientation and time of day is therefore particularly relevant.
Chapels, Churches and Local Memory
The Madonna della Neve Chapel was built by the residents of Anduins after the Second World War in fulfilment of a vow made in 1944. Every year on the first weekend of August, the atmospheric folk festival “Fiesta di Mont” takes place there. The inscription “A.D. 1843” is engraved on the entrance portal of the bell tower of Santa Margherita Church.
A church destroyed by the 1976 earthquake was completely rebuilt; its bell tower was restored. Fragments of the original altar have been preserved inside the church, including putti and stone elements. There is also an altarpiece by Giuseppe Buzzi from 1712 depicting the Madonna and Child together with Saints Bartholomew and Margaret. In Anduins, you will therefore encounter both more recent local history and sacred art from earlier centuries.
Historic Routes to the Arzino
Along the paved Clapadoria mule track from Anduins to Mont, a memorial stone commemorates its completion in 1922. Another historic connection is the Strada Regina Margherita, built in 1891 to connect Pielungo and Anduins with the plain.
The Strada Regina Margherita is eleven kilometres long and runs along the Arzino River via bridges, viaducts and tunnels. Together with the routes to Mont, the Clapeit Gorge and the Somp Čuc viewpoint, it shapes orientation between Anduins, Pielungo and the surrounding landscapes. The sulphur springs of Anduins are also part of the town’s history: they have been used for their therapeutic properties since the 15th century and turned Anduins into a tourist resort in the 1920s.
