Piancavallo is a broad, sunny plateau north of Pordenone. Here, seasonal sports activities combine with paths through forests and pastureland, as well as traces of the work once carried out in the mountains. The different possibilities can be organised according to the season and personal interests without losing the character of the plateau.

Winter Sports on Slopes and Ice
The Piancavallo ski area has 14 km of alpine ski slopes with snowmaking systems that ensure consistent snow cover. Piancavallo also offers modern ski facilities for downhill and cross-country skiing. The 14 km of alpine ski slopes and the modern facilities for downhill and cross-country skiing represent two different forms of winter sport in Piancavallo.
An additional winter option is the Piancavallo Ice arena. It is a covered oval ice rink measuring 30 × 60 m with a quartz concrete surface. In winter, you can ice skate there. In summer, you can use the concrete surface for inline skating or roller skating. The rink therefore has a different use depending on the season. Measuring 30 × 60 m, it is a clearly defined attraction alongside the other offerings in Piancavallo.
Summer with a Chairlift, Bicycles and Alpine Coaster
In summer, the Tremol chairlift takes you to Baita Arneri at an altitude of 1,630 m. The chairlift also enables mountain bike descents in Piancavallo. In summer, Piancavallo offers bicycle rental and bicycle repairs. At the Tremol chairlift, the ride to Baita Arneri and the mountain bike descents are part of the same summer offering.
Bicycle rental and bicycle repairs complement these descents with two additional cycling services.
Another active option is the Piancavallo Alpine Coaster. This rail-mounted bobsleigh track is 1,000 m long and features bumps, curves and parabolic curves. The Piancavallo Alpine Coaster is therefore a separate track measuring 1,000 m in length, with a fixed route consisting of bumps, curves and parabolic curves.
Hiking between Forests and Pastureland
For hiking, Piancavallo offers a dense network of paths through dense forests and pastureland. Several routes provide different starting points for finding your way around. The Ring of the Carbonaie and Col Cornier loop is a moderately difficult hike that begins at the Piancavallo information point.
The Policreti Trail also begins at the Piancavallo information point. The Belvedere and Casera Collalt discovery loop, on the other hand, begins at the PromoTurismoFVG information point. For orientation before setting out, the respective information point is decisive: two loops begin at the Piancavallo information point, while the third begins at the PromoTurismoFVG information point.
Carbonaie and the Work of the Charcoal Burners
The Carbonaie are level areas that bear witness to the work of charcoal burners in these mountains up to the 1950s. While hiking here, you can experience not only the open landscape but also a historical connection with the use of the mountains. This gives Piancavallo an additional cultural and historical dimension alongside its sports and leisure activities. The level areas form part of Piancavallo's mountain landscape.
