Gaiazza combines a clear connection to pilgrimage with an unusually rich local history. The Santuario della Guardia, accessible from Gaiazza, is associated with a Marian apparition on Monte Figogna on 29 August 1490. The Santuario della Guardia can be reached via the pilgrimage route from Gaiazza; every year, it welcomes hundreds of parishes, groups, movements and associations, as well as thousands of individual pilgrims. Santa Maria Assunta and Local History

At Santa Maria Assunta in Gaiazza, a marble plaque on the outside takes us back to 1209: it records renovation and restoration work carried out there. Inside, Santa Maria Assunta houses a Crucifixion by Francesco Campora from 1757.
