Fubine between History and Monferrato

Fubine presents its history through buildings from different periods. The Castello di Fubine, also known as Palazzo Bricherasio, is first documented in a written record dated January 26, 1041. The Cappella Bricherasio was built in 1864 in the neo-Gothic style on behalf of Conte Cavaliere Luigi di Bricherasio. The documented history of the town therefore spans from a building recorded in 1041 to a 19th-century chapel.

Historic Spaces and Infernot

In the crypt of Conte Emanuele there is a funerary monument created by the sculptor Leonardo Bistolfi, who came from Casale. Palazzo Pane is an 18th-century historic building attached to the town hall and decorated with frescoes inside. The buildings thus combine different forms of architecture, remembrance and artistic design.

According to the local tourism portal, the Infernot of Fubine Monferrato are among the most impressive in Monferrato; with more than 50 officially recorded Infernot, Fubine has the highest concentration there. Beneath the town hall of Fubine Monferrato are the restored Infernot degli Angeli, dedicated to rediscovering the traditions and cultures of Monferrato.

The other historic spaces also reflect different uses. The deconsecrated Batù Church, formerly the Church of the Immaculate Conception, is now used as a theater and exhibition space. The Giardino Pensile was probably created before 1800. Lo Spalto is a panoramic trail in Fubine made up of the remains of the old walls that once fortified the upper part of the town.

Panoramas, Trails and Golf

For walks through the surrounding area, Sentiero 860 offers a circular route through the hills and valleys around Fubine; it is suitable for walking and mountain biking. The Big Bench Meraviglia is located on the road from Fubine toward Cuccaro in a naturally panoramic setting. If you would like to combine exercise with expansive views, you can choose between the trail and the viewpoint depending on your plans for the day.

The Margara Golf & Country Club in Fubine Monferrato offers two technically challenging golf courses with panoramic views. Golf therefore provides a distinct focus alongside the historic buildings and trails through the surrounding area.

Wine as an Additional Travel Highlight

Colle Manora di Giorgio Schön, Cantine di Liedholm, Villa Remotti and Mario Pastorello produce Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese DOC and Barbera d’Asti. If you organize your days according to your interests, you can focus on culture, exercise, views, golf or regional flavors.
