Corsione is situated as a settlement on a hilltop and on the ridge separating the Valle Versa and Val Rilate. The layout of the town has an unusually clear character: a spiral shape is combined with a medieval axial structure. It is possible to arrive by car. From the Asti Est motorway exit, it is 18 km in the direction of Casale Monferrato/Corsione. Corsione also has a bus stop served by the VIGO line 34. Churches and Historical Traces

The older history of the town includes the small chapel of Santa Maria dell’Aniceto, also known as Madonna dell’Aniceto, which has Romanesque origins. The church of San Cristoforo was first mentioned in documents in 1266. In 1569, it was the first stop on Domenico della Rovere’s pastoral visitation.

San Cristoforo reflects several stages of historical development. Towards the end of the 15th century, the church probably underwent significant structural changes. The parish church was created from one of the former stables of the castle and is designed in the style of Piedmontese Baroque. Thus, Romanesque origins, a medieval documentary reference, possible late medieval alterations and Baroque stylistic language come together in Corsione.

The Oratorio di San Sebastiano is also part of Corsione’s history. It is known as the Chiesa di S. Michele. The oratory may have been rebuilt on ancient foundations in the second half of the 17th century. Its name and possible building history add another local trace to the town’s historical character.

The Festa Patronale di San Cristoforo is a local festival in Corsione held in July.
