Prato Nevoso: Ski and Summer Holidays in the Ligurian Alps

Prato Nevoso between winter and summer

Prato Nevoso is a ski and summer holiday resort in the Ligurian Alps. The resort is located at an altitude of 1,500 metres in the municipality of Frabosa Sottana in the province of Cuneo. This means the destination combines alpine winter sports with activities for the warmer months. You will find a mountain setting where different travel plans can coexist: skiing and cross-country skiing in Mondolè Ski, walks at high altitude, cycling, climbing routes and family-oriented leisure activities.

Together with Artesina and Frabosa Soprana, Prato Nevoso is part of the Mondolè Ski area. This connection shapes the resort's winter character. The Mondolè Ski area offers more than 130 kilometres of downhill runs as well as a cross-country ski trail for skiers of all ability levels. Those who want to combine different forms of winter sports will find a wide range of options without leaving the ski area's regional setting.

Panoramas and walking trails at 2,000 metres

Altitude also plays an important role outside winter sports. The La Rossa Panoramica cable car, which is accessible to pedestrians, reaches an altitude of 2,000 metres. A panoramic walking trail begins at this cable car, leads to an altitude of 2,000 metres and is considered accessible to everyone.

Activities for families and active days

Prato Nevoso Village is a family-oriented amusement park with inflatable attractions, mini snowmobiles, snow tubing, a play area and a bobsleigh area. Prato Nevoso Village also includes a high-ropes adventure course in the trees for young visitors. A shaded mini-golf course adds to the family leisure activities there. The offerings therefore range from energetic activities to quieter games and suit different daily rhythms within a family.

For cycling enthusiasts, Prato Nevoso Bike Park is divided into the Blu and Rosso areas and offers trails for all ability levels. Falesia del Monte Moro has climbing routes ranging from easy to very difficult. These two activities have different focuses: while the bike park is divided by areas and ability levels, the climbing options range from simple to highly demanding routes.

In the area around Prato Nevoso, you can also visit the Grotte del Caudano. Advance booking is required; visiting hours vary depending on the season. This excursion therefore follows a different planning logic from the freely arranged activities in the resort: the desired visit must be booked in advance and taken into account within the seasonally changing timeframe.

Orientation and choosing accommodation

The Infopoint di Prato Nevoso is open seasonally in summer and winter as a tourist information centre. When choosing a hotel in Prato Nevoso, you can therefore weigh up the priorities of your stay: Mondolè Ski represents winter sports, the cable car and walking trail offer high-altitude routes, the Village provides family activities, and the bike park and Falesia del Monte Moro cater to sports enthusiasts. In August, a summer bus service was established from Mondovì via Artesina to Prato Nevoso.
