Agliè combines impressive buildings with manageable circular routes, making it suitable for a trip in which you would like to combine culture and physical activity. The Castello Ducale di Agliè is one of the residences of the House of Savoy and is designated as a museum of itself. Its history dates back to 1141; over the years, the building was demolished and rebuilt several times.

The Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Massimo also gives the town a clearly recognisable historical profile. The present-day building dates from 1773 and is the work of Ignazio Birago of Borgaro. The floor plan is in the shape of a Latin cross, with the longest arm of the cross forming the nave.

Another defining address is Villa Il Meleto, a 19th-century villa at the foot of Macugnano hill, about one kilometre from Agliè. It was the summer residence of the poet Guido Gozzano (1883–1916). The villa’s current appearance is the result of a restoration commissioned by Gozzano in 1904; Gozzano appreciated French Art Nouveau.

The “Rione di San Gaudenzio” circular route connects Piazza Castello, Viale don Feliciano Notario (“la Rampa”), Via Molini, Via BLumer or Via Setificio, Setificio Barberis and Via Camillo Olivetti, the former Stabilimento Olivetti, Via Giuseppe Frua, the 14th-century Chiesa di San Gaudenzio, the cemetery, Via poeta Guido Gozzano, Piazza Umberto I and the arcades of Via Principe Tommaso. The route is 2 km long and takes about one hour.

The complete “Villa Meleto” circular route runs through Piazza Castello, Via Principe Tommaso, Via Principe Amedeo, Via Meleto, the 19th-century Villa Meleto, Laghetto del Meleto with its island and landing stage, Cascine Ruggie, Strada Provinciale per Cuceglio, Piazza Massimo Mautino and the arcades of Via Principe Tommaso. It is 5 km long and takes about two and a half hours. The three different route lengths give you a concrete basis for planning your day.
