Lu Bagnu combines beaches with a distinctive coastal landscape and cultural attractions in the surrounding area. The town is located by the sea, bordered by Punta La Capra to the west, and therefore offers different starting points for a trip to Sardinia: swimming, water sports, observing the landscape and historical discoveries can all be incorporated into your plans.

Beach access directly in the town
Lu Bagnu is part of the bathing area “Lu Bagnu – Castelsardo”. Lu Bagnu beach can be reached via a staircase leading downhill in the centre of Lu Bagnu. Another staircase leads directly from the Lu Bagnu town area to Sacro Cuore beach. When choosing your accommodation, it is therefore worth considering which beach access you would like to make the focus of your stay.
Punta La Capra: rocks, sea and water sports
Punta La Capra borders Lu Bagnu to the west. The area is associated with windsurfing and sailing; the interplay of rocks and sea forms a natural basin there. The seabed at Punta La Capra is partly rocky and partly sandy, with a medium depth. Punta La Capra can be reached via a small side road from Strada Statale 200. This road opens to the left almost at the end of the 26th kilometre; a sign there points to the sea and the car park.
Beaches and landscape in the surrounding area
The beaches “Spiaggia di Lu Bagnu” and “Spiaggia di Punta Li Paddimi” are located in the immediate vicinity of Lu Bagnu. The mountains “Monte Oschiri” and “Monte Elias” are also nearby. The ruins of “Roccia dell'Elefante” are located in the area around Lu Bagnu. Together with Punta La Capra, beaches, rocks and elevated terrain shape the surroundings of Lu Bagnu.
Castelsardo and history
The historic village of Castelsardo is located on a promontory. Doria Castle now houses the Museo dell'Intreccio Mediterraneo. The museum is located in the immediate vicinity of Lu Bagnu; the castle “Castelsardo Castle” is also nearby. The church “La Cattedrale di Sant'Antonio Abate” is likewise located in the immediate vicinity of Lu Bagnu. The ancient Roman baths are located in Via Marche in Lu Bagnu itself. They are regarded as a site of cultural and archaeological significance. The area around the town therefore extends from the Sardinian coast and sea to medieval architecture and ancient history.
