Scopello combines a maritime landscape with a clearly recognisable historical side. Present-day Scopello dates back to the 17th century, when the area became a hunting ground for the Bourbon kings. The Tonnara di Scopello, a historic site and open-air museum, is located nearby. Original boats, fishing equipment and ropes can be seen there, along with the rooms where the Rais and his crew gathered every year.

Hiking in the Zingaro Nature Reserve

It runs for 7 kilometres to the northern entrance near San Vito Lo Capo. The walking time is approximately 2 hours in one direction.
