Parish Church of Pieve di Marebbe
Since 1214, the parish church of Pieve di Marebbe has had permanent spiritual leadership in Marebbe. In 1347, the parish church of Pieve di Marebbe was explicitly referred to as “Parrocchia di Santa Maria di Marebbe”. The present-day parish church has a Baroque structure and a cruciform floor plan. The Renaissance high altar is particularly noteworthy: it was carved from wood in 1636. The church is also a popular and well-visited pilgrimage destination for residents of Val Badia and believers from Val Pusteria.
Viles and historic village scenes
Curt, also known as Corte, is a Vila with five farms and a small chapel. The Vila is known for its 17th-century houses with original portals and frescoes. Brach comprises four farms and a castle that was inhabited by the Prack nobility until 1682. The small center around the church square of Pieve di Marebbe is also home to Gran Ciasa, a stately residence worth seeing.
Walking trails between villages and landscapes
The Roda dles Viles circular hiking trail begins in La Pli and follows paths or small roads to the Viles of Brach, Ciaseles, Frontü and Biei. La Pli developed around the parish church of Pieve di Marebbe from initially just two farms, with the village later growing from this nucleus. On the way to the Vila of Pliscia, you can admire the rebuilt castle of Brach.
