Brentonico between Monte Baldo, nature and culture
Accommodation in Brentonico
Brentonico between the high plateau and Monte Baldo
Brentonico lies on a plateau ranging from around 500 to over 2,000 metres in altitude, between Monte Baldo, Monte Altissimo and Vignola. From various points around Brentonico, you can see Lake Garda, the pre-Alpine peaks and the plain. This gives you several focal points for planning your trip: landscapes, outdoor activities, winter and culture.

Nature in different habitats
The Monte Baldo di Brentonico protected area encompasses extensive beech forests, alpine meadows, subalpine shrublands and rocky habitats. The permanent Orto dei semplici and Giardino botanico del Monte Baldo cover approximately 6,000 square metres. If you would like to experience nature not only as a panorama but in its different forms, the range extends from large-scale habitats to a specially created botanical garden.
Panoramic trails and cycling
A panoramic trail leads from Mori to Brentonico through forests, meadows and open landscapes. For cyclists, the challenging but rewarding climb from Mori to Brentonico follows the Monte Baldo provincial road and offers several panoramic rest stops. The trail and the climb represent two different ways of experiencing the landscape: one through the changing scenery of forest, meadow and open countryside, the other along a sporting route with viewpoints.
Fossils and natural history
The Museo del Fossile del Monte Baldo displays 40 showcases in six rooms containing fossils from the Monte Baldo range. Its palaeontological collection documents groups of animals that lived in marine environments and evolved successively during the period from approximately 150 to 180 million years ago, after the Triassic. For you, the museum connects the fossils from the Monte Baldo range with an evolutionary history reaching far back in time.
Churches, frescoes and historic architecture
The Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo preserves the remains of medieval pictorial decoration on its vault. Its apse contains Romanesque frescoes attributed to artists from Verona and dating from the second half of the 14th century. Palazzo Eccheli Baisi was built at the end of the 16th century by joining together several pre-existing medieval buildings. Those interested in painting, sacred spaces and historic architecture will therefore find different cultural ways to explore Brentonico.
Winter activities and sensory experiences of nature
The Centro Fondo San Giacomo on the Brentonico high plateau has cross-country ski trails for both the classic technique and skating. At Centro Fondo San Giacomo, there is a footpath for walkers and a route suitable for snowshoeing. The Oasi dei Sensi in the heart of Brentonico offers a completely different way of experiencing nature: its garden invites you to discover it anew through touch, smell and hearing.
