Palaces and Architectural Traces

The Palazzo Vigili de Kreutzenberg emerged from the former Maso of the Gartner von Sommerfeld family. The former Maso was called “alt Gartner Hof”. The palazzo includes four bifora windows, which are stylistically attributed to the late 15th or early 16th century. The building thus combines an older farmstead structure with architectural forms from the transition between the late Middle Ages and the early modern period.

Another aspect of regional culture is represented by the Mulino Zadra. The mill probably dates from the early 19th century and is built entirely of wood. As a Vitruvian mill, it was originally powered by a water wheel. Despite its great age, the Mulino Zadra is still operational. The parish church of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria in Roverè della Luna also contains an apse fresco of the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus between Saint Vigilius and Saint Caterina d’Alessandria.

Wine and Diverse Landscapes

The regional wine culture includes Cantina Roveré della Luna. It was founded in Salorno in 1919 and moved its headquarters to Roverè della Luna in 1953. The approximately 430 hectares of Cantina Roveré della Luna around the town centre differ in elevation and soil composition. For your travel planning, this creates a vivid connection between local history, agricultural use and the different landscapes of the surrounding area.

Old Routes Between Valley and Heights

Several routes lead from Roverè della Luna into the surrounding landscapes. The route to Favogna/Fennberg via Strada Mont del Gidio runs along Val del Rivo Bosconero and joins a forest track to Favogna/Fennberg in South Tyrol. In addition, the ancient Roverè della Luna–Favogna route via Val de l’Inferno connects the Favogna plateau with the valley floor.

Another route from Roverè della Luna to the Rif. Malga Kraun mountain hut leads through a wild, rugged valley enclosed by a wall of vertical rock faces. The different routes help you distinguish between the landscape and changes in elevation conceptually before planning a specific activity. The routes pass through different landscapes and say nothing about current accessibility or usability.

Peaks and Destinations in the Regional Area

Monte Cuc, Dosson, Cima d’Arza and Bodrina are peaks in the vicinity of Roverè della Luna. Castel Thun is a castle in the vicinity of Roverè della Luna. The wider regional area also includes Castello di Cles, a castle; the Museo Storico in Trento – Castello del Buonconsiglio, a museum; and Monte Palace, a palace. The range of possible cultural and landscape connections thus extends from individual peaks through castles to a museum and a palace.
