Culture Between Villa, Museum and Abbey

The Castello dell’Acciaiolo is a monumental complex consisting of a historic villa, its park and its garden. It was classified as a cultural asset of particular significance under Law 1089/39. The complex is therefore one of the specific cultural topics you can include when exploring Scandicci, without considering its individual components separately.

The GAMPS geopalaeontological museum is housed in the Centro Civico Ofelia Mangini, in the former primary school of Badia a Settimo. The CAI Scandicci hiking network comprises twelve marked trails numbered 730 to 740, including connecting trail 732A. Hiking trail 730 connects Lastra a Signa with Tavarnuzze and keeps paved sections to a minimum. Parco Museo Poggio Valicaia also contains an open-air museum with installations and sculptures of contemporary art. The artists represented include Dario Bartolini, Italo Zuffi, Maria Dompé, Paolo Staccioli and Valentino Moradei.

Villa Costanza and the T1

For your arrival, the Villa Costanza car park can be reached via the A1 motorway and the Villa Costanza exit. This exit is located between the Scandicci and Firenze Impruneta toll stations. The tram stop is outside the car park, just a few steps from the security gate of the entrance and exit area.

The T1 tram line runs between Villa Costanza and Careggi and has 26 stops in the municipalities of Scandicci and Florence.
