Ripoli is a village described as ancient, set in the rural landscape of Tuscany. The village and landscape are characterized by the municipal Via dei Presepi and the hilly terrain around Villa Delia. The surrounding area also includes several cultural, garden and park destinations; in the wider regional area, there is also a natural history museum, a monumental complex, a zoo and a mountain. The municipal route and Villa Delia refer to different areas for activities: in one case, lanes, ridges and rural landscapes, and in the other, hilly terrain.

Via dei Presepi: Driving and Walking

Ripoli is included in the municipal Via dei Presepi. The Via dei Presepi combines drives with walks through lanes, ridges and rural landscapes. A separate map is provided for each village participating in the Via dei Presepi, including Ripoli. If you are travelling by car, you can combine this form of exploration with walks. The map for Ripoli is therefore a specific point of reference if you want to distinguish between driving and walking. For planning your day, you can thus decide whether the Via should be the main focus as a drive, a walk or a combination of both forms.

Hilly Terrain around Villa Delia

Villa Delia offers another facet. Villa Delia has 32 hectares of hilly terrain for walking, jogging and cycling. A walk, a jogging session or a bike ride uses the same area, but with a different focus of movement in each case. Villa Delia offers stays in Ripoli all year round. Walking is therefore associated with both the Via dei Presepi and Villa Delia; jogging and cycling refer to the grounds of Villa Delia.

Destinations in the Surrounding Area

Several destinations with different characteristics are located around Ripoli. The ancient site Parco Preistorico Peccioli is in the vicinity of Ripoli. Also in the surrounding area are Museo Piaggio, the garden Giardino dei Pini and the park Parco dei Salici. Parco Preistorico Peccioli and Museo Piaggio represent two cultural destinations, while Giardino dei Pini is a garden and Parco dei Salici is a park. You can consider visiting a museum, a garden or a park, or choose the ancient site as a separate cultural focus.

Wider Regional Area

The Museo di Storia Naturale and the Certosa Monumentale di Pisa are located in the wider regional area around Ripoli. Also in this wider regional area are Zoo Acquario di Livorno and the mountain Monte Cascetto. The Museo di Storia Naturale expands the cultural destinations with a natural history focus, while the Certosa Monumentale di Pisa represents a monumental complex. Zoo Acquario di Livorno and Monte Cascetto introduce the themes of a zoo and mountain landscape.
