Cerbara combines sacred architecture, historic villas, park events and a cycling event connected with culture and gastronomy. Depending on your personal travel pace, you can therefore get to know the place from different perspectives: with an interest in religious architecture, local initiatives, park events or an active tour along the Tiber.

Churches and villas as cultural points of reference

The Chiesa della Trasfigurazione di Cristo in Cerbara is a filial church of the San Biagio parish. It was consecrated on 7 October 1995. Its central plan is inspired by the biblical concept of the tent on Mount Tabor. Those who view architecture not only in terms of its age, but also in terms of its floor plan and religious concept, will find a clearly defined cultural focal point here.

The Oratorio PerDiQua in Cerbara is considered a small social and educational facility for children and young people. Villa Palazzeschi is part of Umbria’s historic villa culture: it has been included in the regional network of historic villas, parks and gardens of Umbria. Villa Bice Zampini in Cerbara is associated with the date 05.08.1998. These different points of reference make cultural interests in Cerbara varied, without requiring you to focus on a single subject.

Arrival and local orientation

For planning your journey, Cerbara railway station provides a specific point of reference. On 14 August 2026, RFI’s live arrival and departure monitor for Cerbara railway station showed connections to Sansepolcro and Perugia Ponte S. Giovanni. If you also consider your journey from the perspective of regional rail connections, this dated status is one of the practical pieces of information about the area.

Events in parks and in the annual programme

The programmes in Cerbara showcase different forms of local culture. As part of the 2025 summer programme, a free Cine-Park film screening of “The Little Prince” took place at Parco dei cervi in Cerbara. The 2025 summer programme also included the reading “Letture nei parchi”, organised by LAAV, at Parco di Cerbara on 2 July.

The 2025–2026 Christmas programme in Cerbara included the “Segui la Stella” event in the Pro Loco area, organised by all the associations. A film screening, a reading and a community-organised Christmas event represented different programme items. The dates belong to the respective programmes and describe their content at that time.

By bicycle to Città di Castello

The annually organised “Ciliegia Tour” is a cycling, cultural and gastronomic event. It starts at the headquarters of Pro Loco Cerbara and is organised by GS Errepielle di Cerbara together with Pro Loco on the occasion of the traditional village festival “Cerbara in festa”. Starting from Cerbara, the “Ciliegia Tour” cycling route follows the “percorso vita” along the Tiber to the town centre of Città di Castello.

When choosing accommodation in Cerbara, you can therefore consider which focus best suits your trip: sacred architecture, regional villas, events in the park or a cycling tour connected with culture and gastronomy. Cerbara offers several clearly distinguishable points of reference between local culture, community programmes and outdoor activity.
