Pilgrimage and religious tradition: church, Madonna di Panico shrine and procession

On 22 April 2025, a jubilee pilgrimage began at the church in Crocemarroggia, leading on foot to the Madonna di Panico – Regina della Pace shrine. The route on foot covered almost 6 km, and the pilgrimage also included four meditation stations. The nearly six kilometres provide a clear indication for physical planning; the four meditation stations mark fixed stopping points along the route. For a visit involving the walk, the route should be considered a separate part of the programme; the four stations provide additional religious structure without specifying a particular duration.

Easter Monday is also associated with Madonna di Panico: on this day, residents of the surrounding districts go to the shrine. This recalls an old tradition in which three processions – including one from Crocemarroggia – arrived in Panico.

Farm culture and regional products made from wine, cheese and ricotta

Agriturismo San Vito is located at Località Crocemarroggia 45, Spoleto, Province of Perugia, Umbria, Italy. At the farm, the agriturismo offers breakfast as well as tastings and/or snacks.

During the hand-harvested grape harvest, visitors to Agriturismo San Vito can observe the entire wine-making process. The agriturismo’s dairy produces mixed cheese made from sheep’s and cow’s milk, as well as mixed and salted ricotta. The manual grape harvest and the dairy production are separate processes carried out on the same farm.

Wooded landscapes and outdoor activities: Catinelli and the two Torrente valleys

Catinelli is situated in an extensive wooded landscape between the valleys of the Torrente Marroggia and the Torrente Tessino and is considered a destination for hikes and mountain-bike tours. For personal planning, two different forms of activity are therefore the main focus: hiking and mountain-bike tours. The hiking route “WHERE FRANCIS WALKED - Crocemarroggia - ROMITA DI CESI” is connected with Crocemarroggia. The two valleys give the landscape a clear spatial framework.

In Crocemarroggia, the equipped green area is part of the municipal network of multipurpose spaces for sporting, social and community activities, whose development began in 1988. The green area thus combines sport with social and community activities.

An announced free holiday camp in Crocemarroggia in 2026

For 2026, the free holiday camp “Anch’io sono la Protezione Civile”, organised by the Comune di Spoleto together with local civil protection volunteers, was announced again. The beginning of the municipal network’s development in 1988 predates the holiday camp announced for 2026. It was scheduled to take place from 28 June to 4 July 2026 at the Circolo Ricreativo Auser Insieme on Via Casette di Crocemarroggia.
