Volargne: Discover Villa Art and Experiences on the Adige
Volargne can be discovered from two directions: through exceptional culture at Villa Del Bene and through active experiences on the Adige. Added to this are destinations in the surrounding area that complete the picture with museums, historic buildings, nature and other excursion interests.
Villa Del Bene and historic rooms
One prominent cultural landmark is Villa Del Bene. Its portal dates from the 16th century and is attributed to the architect and urban planner Michele Sanmicheli. The central hall contains a cycle depicting the Apocalypse, while three side rooms feature further depictions from the Old and New Testaments. The loggia includes pagan-inspired and hermetic themes. The villa also includes a contemporary art gallery with rooms arranged over two levels for its own collection and temporary art exhibitions.
Another historic feature is the preserved sacristy of San Martino. It consists of the presbytery of the former medieval church. In Volargne, you will therefore encounter both a representative villa with diverse artistic themes and a preserved example of medieval ecclesiastical architecture.
Rafting and kayaking on the Adige
Two different experiences take center stage for active days on the Adige. A rafting descent leads through the landscapes of Valdadige and through the spectacular Ceraino Canyon. Visitvaldadige's rafting base is located on Via San Martino in Volargne. During the kayaking experience on the Adige, participants steer the kayak themselves and likewise experience the landscapes of Valdadige and the Ceraino Canyon. Visitvaldadige's base for this kayaking experience is also located on Via San Martino in Volargne. This allows you to choose between a rafting descent and self-guided kayaking as different forms of experiencing the Adige.
Excursions in the surrounding area
The area around Volargne offers destinations with clearly distinct characters: Museo dell'olio is a museum, Parco Natura Viva is a zoo, Falesia Mitria is a ruin, Castello Scaligero is a castle and Padri Redentoristi is a monastery. For planning your excursions, this opens up a varied selection of exhibitions, wildlife observation, and historic and religious sites. The five destinations should be regarded as separate themes, not as similar types of attractions.
Waterfall and peaks in the surrounding landscape
The landscape also extends beyond Volargne. Parco delle Cascate, a waterfall, is located in the surrounding area. Punta di Naole, a peak, is also nearby. In the wider regional surroundings of Volargne lies Corno d'Aquilio, likewise a peak. The waterfall, nearby peak and more distant regional peak give your planning three different landscape connections.
The right travel focus
When choosing a hotel in Volargne, your own focus may be decisive: culture, water-based experiences, landscape or excursions. The different themes can be combined into one stay without presupposing a particular type of trip.
