Campese combines a distinctive landscape with trails and clear cultural points of reference. Le Stue is a spring in Campese at the entrance to the Canale di Brenta and is connected with the local water system. Above Campese, the Val Vecchia valley opens on the right bank of the Canale di Brenta. Today, the terraced landscape is cultivated only in part. To the north of the town, on the right bank of the Brenta, lies Strada Campesane, which also passes through a landscape shaped by terraces.

Hiking trails to Monte Caina

For hiking enthusiasts, the trails around Campese offer a variety of options. Sentiero CAI 762 leads from Campese to Monte Caina. It reaches the summit, where a war memorial and a statue of Our Lady of Fatima stand. Sentiero CAI 763 also begins in Campese and leads to Monte Caina; the walking time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the difficulty is rated E.

The Alta Via del Tabacco is also part of the region’s trail network. This ethnonaturalistic hiking trail connects Campese, Campolongo and Valstagna. From Contrada Castelvecchio, trails lead to Montagna Campesana and Caina, as well as along the meadows to the village of San Martino and the Rea springs. An old path into the San Martino valley also begins beside the outer apse of the Church of San Martino in Campese.

Church, monastery and cultural sites

Campese is home to the Church of Santa Croce, the monastery and the tomb of Teofilo Folengo. The tomb is located in a chapel to the left of the presbytery of the Church of Santa Croce; Teofilo Folengo lived from 1491 to 1544.
