Alba Adriatica between sandy beaches, cycle paths and culture

Alba Adriatica begins for you by the sea: The town has sandy beaches with calm waters and is also known as “Spiaggia d’Argento” because of its wide sandy beach and crystal-clear water. Spiaggia del Fratino e del Giglio di Mare is also a protected area recognized by WWF. Cycle Path and Maritime Townscape

Along the sea, Lungomare Guglielmo Marconi has a wide, well-equipped cycle path. It is part of Bike to Coast, a 131-kilometre route from Martinsicuro to San Salvo. During a walk along Lungomare Marconi, you will also see the Madonnina dei marinai, a symbol of the maritime culture and local traditions of Alba Adriatica.

The municipal Bambinopoli park is open to everyone. The municipal library of Alba Adriatica is located in the historic Villa Flaiani. This brings together different sides of the town: a public park and a historic building that houses a municipal library.

Historical Traces and Villas

The Torrione is also known as Torre di guardia del Vibrata and served to monitor the area at the end of the 16th century. It was restored and converted into a restaurant with a pizzeria. Villa Chiarugi is also known as “Favorita” and was used by the Ranalli family as a summer residence.

Churches between Modernity and History

The Chiesa di Santa Maria is a modern building with a hexagonal floor plan, constructed primarily from reinforced concrete and bricks. The Chiesa dell'Immacolata has a modern, spacious and bright design created at the end of the 1970s in the shape of a moving boat; its bell tower recalls three sails. The Chiesa di San Vincenzo Ferreri dates from the 18th century. Its façade features three terracotta tiles with inscriptions. The Chiesa di Sant'Eufemia is used by local residents. If you would like to combine architecture and local history, you will find modern forms here alongside an 18th-century building and a church used by local residents.

Art and Squares

Villa Zanoni is a historic building of great artistic interest and was designed by Albanio di Giulianova. The Monumento ai caduti is an octagonal bronze Monumento Pedestre on Piazza IV Novembre, created by Francesco Perilli. On the wall of the primary school in Villa Fiore is a street-art work by Alice Pasqualini, a tribute to culture, thought and education. The three examples range from historic architecture and a bronze monument to a work of art in the surroundings of a school.
