Breuil-Cervinia is a modern resort at the foot of the Matterhorn. The town combines a high-alpine landscape with several ways to experience the surrounding area: on the Plateau RosĂ , glaciers, views and the history of cable-car construction take center stage, while trails, a golf course and a lake provide further highlights. This allows you to tailor your trip to your own interests, choosing between winter sports, hiking, cycling, landscapes and culture.

Glacial landscape and special insights

From the terrace at the mountain-station cable-car terminal on the Plateau Rosà, you can view the great 4,000-metre peaks from close up. The “A Mountain of Work” museum is located on the Plateau Rosà at an altitude of 3,500 m and documents the construction of the Plateau Rosà and Furggen cable cars through photographs and equipment. The Ice Cave can be reached on foot from the Plateau Rosà through a 50-metre-long tunnel at a depth of 15 m. Here, views, glaciers and the history of technology can be experienced through different destinations within the same high-mountain landscape.

Skiing, hiking and cycling

The Breuil-Cervinia–Valtournenche–Zermatt ski area is at the heart of the winter sports offering. It extends across three valleys and two countries and includes more than 360 kilometres of pistes. The Breuil-Cervinia ski area is connected to the slopes of Valtournenche and the Swiss slopes of Zermatt. The winter sports offering is therefore defined both by its cross-border extent and by the connections between the individual ski areas.

In Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche, high-altitude hiking offers trails for all levels of difficulty; the ski lifts can shorten the approach. Around the permanent glaciers of the Plateau RosĂ , the Bike Park del Cervino consists of a diverse network of trails specially designed for bikers. This allows you to choose between hiking routes of varying difficulty and purpose-built trails for bikers.

Lakes, trails and golf course

A different aspect of the landscape can be seen at Lago Blu. It is fed by spring water, is always exceptionally clear and allows the Matterhorn to be reflected on its surface. The lake is about a 30-minute walk or a few minutes by car from the centre of Breuil-Cervinia. These approximate details help you plan your visit according to the time you wish to spend. From Cervinia, there is also a trail of about 40 minutes to the dam of Lake Goillet. You can take the different time estimates into account when planning your excursions.

The Golf Club del Cervino also provides its own distinctive highlight. Its golf course has 18 holes; the course starts in the centre of Breuil-Cervinia. Golf therefore adds an activity whose course begins directly in the town to the range of options.
