Palazzo Gualtieri was built in the first half of the 19th century and features impressive stone masonry. At the entrance to Via Castello, there is a stone coat of arms dating from 1600. Ancient Chiaravalle is said to have been located around the hill known as “Castello” and below the present-day Capuchin monastery. The “Gurne” area is traditionally associated with basins used for roasting flax.

The local festival calendar includes the feast of Saint Biagio, celebrated on February 2 and 3. The festival in honor of the Madonna della Pietra was initially celebrated every year on the last Sunday in August.
