The historic village of Rocca d'Evandro lies on a hill at the foot of Monte Camino. Monte Camino is a summit within the municipality of Rocca d'Evandro, between the Mainarde Mountains and the Gulf of Gaeta. Castello and Sacred Architecture

Castello di Rocca d’Evandro was built in the Middle Ages as a defensive castle to protect the surrounding area and was transformed over the centuries into a noble residence. Cycling Route and Wine Connection

“Bike in Gustav” is a cycling tourism initiative promoted by the municipalities of Rocca d’Evandro and Galluccio. The “Bike in Gustav” cycling loop route runs along places associated with the Gustav/Bernhard Line, including the site of the Battle of Monte Camino. The Porto di Mola winery is one of the route’s stops. For cycling enthusiasts, this theme combines local history with a connection to a winery.

Mortola Between Tradition and Antiquity

The traditional event “Bacio Santo del Garigliano” takes place in Santa Maria di Mortola in the Rocca d’Evandro area. Traces of a Roman wine transshipment site have also resurfaced in the village of Mortola. A wine transshipment site was a place where wine was transferred between means of transport; the Roman connection therefore adds an older historical layer to the traditional event.
