Landscape between Mountain Ridges and Coast

Montecorice combines the landscape of mountain ridges and valleys with a coastline where nature, historic places and local traditions come together. Along the mountain ridges, the characteristic pattern of dry-stone terraces has been preserved. Ortodonico and Historical Traces

Traces of a Lucanian place of worship dating from the 5th century BC were discovered on the summit of the Collina della Croce in Ortodonico. The only windmill in Cilento was built at the beginning of the 20th century and is still well preserved. The rural Passoláre houses in Montecorice were formerly used to dry figs. The two examples represent different periods: the windmill is part of the preserved built heritage, while the use of the houses explicitly belongs to the past.

San Nicola: Harbour and Anchovies

At the tourist harbour of San Nicola, the maritime setting meets culinary tradition. The harbour is known for the traditional preservation of anchovies. From June to September, it can accommodate recreational boaters; to moor, they must contact the municipal berthing points indicated.
