Calcara combines a historic theater building, sacred art and a river landscape shaped by the Samoggia. The Teatro Calcara building was constructed in 1911 as the Casa del Popolo. Teatro Calcara and its program

The paintings in the Loggia d'onore of Villa Nicolaj depict places and battles from the War of the Spanish Succession. San Nicolò thus focuses on a Rosary motif, while Villa Nicolaj depicts historic sites and battles. The church combines an early architectural history with a specifically dated work of art.

Parco del Taglio on the Samoggia

The Parco del Taglio in Calcara is a nature park. It was named after the cut made through a large river bend in 1806, which changed the course of the waterway. The Il Taglio riverside park encompasses the floodplain beside the park of Villa Turrini Rossi, now Villa Nicolaj, and features centuries-old oaks. At the Parco del Taglio, the historically explained park name is linked to a floodplain and an old oak population along the watercourse.

The Passerella del Taglio connects the Parco del Taglio with the Parco dell'Albero Azzurro on the opposite bank of the Samoggia. A small cycle path leads to additional green spaces in Calcara.
