Museums and Culture in Collecchio

On the first floor of the Centro Culturale Villa Soragna, the exhibition halls host solo or group exhibitions of sculpture, painting and photography. This gives the venue a clear cultural focus that brings together various forms of artistic expression.

A particular highlight is the Corte di Giarola. The Museo della Pasta is located there in the municipality of Collecchio, in a medieval centre for the processing of agricultural and food products. The monumental Corte di Giarola complex is protected to preserve its structure and is intended for public use. In the Museo della Pasta, ten sections convey historical, technological and cultural knowledge about pasta.

The third section is dedicated to the preparation of fresh pasta at home. On display are small household appliances, the art of using a rolling pin and a particularly diverse collection of Italian “speronelle”, or pasta wheels. This area in particular focuses on craft processes and the everyday side of Italian cuisine.

Everyday Culture and Personal Insights

The Museo Ettore Guatelli is dedicated to everyday objects that tell the story of rural culture and the knowledge of the region. The guided visits are conducted by volunteers from the Associazione Amici di Ettore Guatelli and last about one and a half hours. This gives you a museum visit focused on objects from daily life and their regional significance.

The Museo del Pomodoro is open from 1 March to 8 December on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 18:00. These fixed opening times make the museum especially suitable as a destination that you can deliberately fit into your plans for a weekend or public holiday.

Parks, Paths and Landscapes

Near the Corte di Giarola, the regional river park Parco Fluviale Regionale del Taro offers opportunities for excursions on foot and by bicycle.

In the nearby Boschi di Carrega protected area, there are short, easy circular trails and a network of paths for trekking. The paths connect lakes and wetlands, oak and chestnut forests, agricultural areas and monumental sites. Depending on your preferred pace, you will find both manageable walks and longer options for an extended hike.

A Striking Entrance to Villa Paveri Fontana

At the entrance to Collecchio, a monumental gateway marks the entrance to the park of Villa Paveri Fontana. The villa was built at the end of the 17th century.
