The Centro Visite Bevanella is a starting point for excursions on foot, by electric boat, by bicycle and by canoe. The historic Pineta di Classe and the Bevano River are nearby. The area around the Centro Visite Bevanella includes the natural Foce del Bevano in a landscape of approximately 40 hectares, with coastal dunes and lagoons behind them. The Pineta di Classe is a 900-hectare, freely accessible natural area and part of the Po Delta Park. It lies east of the SS16 Adriatica between the towns of Classe, Fosso Ghiaia and Savio. In the pine forest, you will find rest and observation areas for wetlands and the birdlife there, accessible on foot or by bicycle.
By bicycle from the pine forest to Ravenna’s culture
A specific connection between nature and culture is offered by the round-trip route “Pedalando immersi nella Pineta”. It leads from the Centro Visite La Bevanella to the Basilica di Classe and the Classis Museum. The return route leads back to the starting point, the Centro Visite La Bevanella. The route combines an intense experience of nature with a visit to a UNESCO site and a museum about Ravenna’s history. For a day trip, this makes it possible to combine the landscape experience of the pine forest with a cultural destination, without viewing nature and history separately from one another.
Safari, amusement parks and water experiences
Safari Ravenna is located in Località Mirabilandia, Savio di Ravenna. The park offers educational programs developed and led by specialized staff, explaining to visitors the characteristics and habits of the species kept in the park. Safari is a 4 km-long route where you can see animals up close and without barriers. Mirabilandia offers attractions in six themed areas. Mirabeach is a water park with attractions in three intensity categories – from family-friendly fun to rides for the particularly adventurous.
Getting there and making your own selection
Lido di Savio/Lido di Classe railway station is connected to Mirabilandia by a dedicated shuttle bus and route 176, coordinated with the departure and arrival times of the main trains. When choosing a hotel for your stay in Savio, you can therefore plan your days according to your preferred focus: observing nature in the pine forest, taking a cycling tour to the cultural destinations of Classe, or visiting Safari Ravenna, Mirabilandia and Mirabeach.
