Coast, Trails and Beaches

Recco combines coast, hilly landscapes and a distinctive culinary character. The Lungomare Bettolo stretches along the coast and offers panoramic views of the Golfo Paradiso. It can be reached on foot or by bicycle and is suitable for walks and outdoor activities.

Accessibility and the location of beaches are also relevant for getting around locally: access to the Lungomare Bettolo and the parking facilities there are accessible to wheelchair users. There are two equipped beaches in the town centre. The beach near the park is considered particularly suitable for children because the seabed is shallow and there is a play area.

Recco can also be explored above the coast. Trails run up from the sea into the valley across the hills; the network includes historic paths and offers panoramic views. This makes it possible to organise your stay according to landscape and activity: by the water, on historic trails or enjoying panoramas from the slopes.

Churches, Park and Library

The Chiesa di San Giovanni Bono e Battista was inaugurated on 1 May 1951. Its square bell tower is 55 metres high. The Chiesa di San Rocco was restored in the 19th century; among other works, the vault was repainted and the bell tower was built. Inside are three altars dedicated to San Rocco, Nostra Signora degli Angeli, and Saints Giacomo and Filippo.

The present-day church of San Francesco was completed in 1955. The Santuario della Madonna del Suffragio dates from the mid-18th century and has a tall bell tower. The Chiesa di Nostra Signora delle Grazie in Megli houses a thorn from Christ's crown, regarded as such.

The Parco della Rimembranza contains a shrine for 127 civilian victims of the bombings of 1943–44. Access to the Parco della Rimembranza is accessible to people with disabilities. The Biblioteca Civica “Ippolito d'Aste” includes the Sala Polivalente “Franco Lavoratori”, which is used for cultural events and activities.

Focaccia and Culinary Trails

Recco is closely associated with focaccia: Focaccia col formaggio originated in Recco and became established there as a traditional dish. It bears the protected geographical indication IGP (Indicazione geografica protetta). The Festa della Focaccia takes place on the fourth Sunday in May.

The regional connection between food and movement includes the Mangialonga in the Golfo Paradiso, a culinary walk along the Creuze and trails of the region. On the hill of Megli, the Sagra delle Focaccette offers fried Focaccette with cheese.

Festivals Throughout the Year

An annual tradition in Recco is the Sagra del Fuoco, which dates back to 1824. Additional services by AMT and Trenitalia were planned for the evenings with fireworks at the 2026 Sagra del Fuoco.
