Rovetta: Fantoni Art, Churches and Views

The churches reflect different periods, each contributing its own distinctive character. The Chiesa di Tutti i Santi in Rovetta is a Baroque parish church dating from 1659 to 1672. The Chiesa Parrocchiale di Tutti i Santi houses the Pala di Rovetta in an ornate marble altarpiece made specifically by Giovan Bottino Fantoni and his workshop. Gian Battista Tiepolo painted the Pala di Rovetta in 1734.

The Chiesa dei Disciplini is considered Rovetta’s oldest church and dates from the 12th to the 13th century. In a side room there is the tomb of an old and respected figure. The Santuario Madonna di Sommaprada was built in the 16th century following a miraculous event and rebuilt in the 17th century.

Views and Tours

The Cima Blum offers exercise and wide-open spaces, with an expansive viewpoint over the Altipiano and Val Borlezza. Municipal Route A from Rovetta via Gratarolo and the Colle di Blum to Cima Blum and back is considered a classic half-day tour. The regional tour “Un giro tra campi e sapori” can be undertaken on foot or by bicycle and passes the Chiesa dei Disciplini di Rovetta. Another mountain option is the Rifugio Albani, reachable from the pass in around 20 minutes; overnight stays are possible there.

Red Corn and Local Specialities

Rovetta also has a culinary side. The town is associated with bread and sweet baked goods made from red corn. The Azienda Agricola Beccarelli Luca produces, among other things, flour from Rostrato red corn and corn wafers, as well as other specialities.
