Thermal Center and Parkland

Trescore Balneario offers two clearly defined focal points for planning your trip: thermal treatments and cultural and historical heritage. The thermal center in Trescore has departments for inhalation treatments, thermal mud therapy, motor rehabilitation and thermal phlebology. The Trescore thermal complex is located in the center of an extensive park. Parco Le Stanze is a well-equipped municipal park where adults and children can enjoy various outdoor activities.

Palaces and Churches with a Long History

Palazzo delle Stanze has been a national monument since 1932 and preserves traces of the walls of an ancient medieval castle. The Chiesa di San Bartolomeo has been documented since 1413, when a chaplaincy was founded there. In Trescore, you can therefore encounter both evidence of medieval fortifications and an ecclesiastical history dating back to the early 15th century.

The Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista is also one of the town’s historic buildings: it was restored in the 1960s. Its interior was frescoed in the 18th century by the same artist who decorated the interior of the nearby Villa dei Marchesi Terzi. The Chiesa di Sant'Antonio Abate has been documented since 1541.

The Chiesa di San Cassiano is considered the parish church of one of Trescore’s first inhabited settlement centers. It stands at the intersection of a road built by the Romans that connected the Valle dei Camuni with Brescia and Bergamo. For visitors interested in culture, this site brings together the early history of settlement and the historic road connection between the valleys and cities.

Architecture, Frescoes and Imagery

Villa Terzi al Canton was designed by the architect Filippo Alessandri and is considered one of the most complete expressions of 18th-century architecture in the province of Bergamo. The Cappella di Villa Suardi contains frescoes depicting the stories of Saint Barbara and Saint Brigid of Ireland.

The Chiesa di San Bartolomeo preserves some of its original 15th-century frescoes. It also contains a 17th-century altarpiece based on a well-known print depicting the martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew by José de Ribera, known by the nickname lo Spagnoletto. The different works make the churches and villas of Trescore interesting for visitors who would like to take a closer look at architecture, mural painting and religious imagery.

Oratorio Suardi and Practical Planning

In the Oratorio Suardi in Trescore Balneario, a large fresco by Lotto covers the entire left wall of the small oratory. From March 1 to November 30, guided visits to Lotto’s frescoes are offered there.
