Nature in Parco San Lorenzo

Parco San Lorenzo was established in 1990 and is a local park of supra-municipal interest, known in Italian as Parco Locale di Interesse Sovracomunale. The Oasi Falconiera is the part of Parco San Lorenzo dedicated to protecting the fauna, flora and natural ecosystem of the Po Valley.

Culture between Theatre and Archaeology

The Teatro Comunale “G. Anselmi” in Pegognaga was built between 1926 and 1927 and was previously known as the Teatro Littorio. Another historical aspect is preserved at the Museo Archeologico di Pegognaga: the collection includes a capital with a dedication to Padre Po. Together, the two sites offer different points of connection to Pegognaga’s cultural history.

Parco Florida opened in June 1947 as a summer dance venue. Chronologically, the construction of the theatre between 1926 and 1927 preceded the opening of Parco Florida in June 1947.

Regional Cuisine

The cuisine of Pegognaga is influenced by Gonzaga cuisine and the rural traditions of the Province of Mantua. There is also a specific local speciality: Parmigiano Reggiano is produced in Pegognaga.
